Still haven't decided between Number Theory or Set and Logic Theory for Semester 2.
Set Theory and Logic looks interesting, especially ZFC, Borel sets etc...but it's hard to imagine practical apps.
I've only seen basic set theory in action(fuzzy sets too, but that's not really....)
Number Theory has emerged to be a very useful field in real world terms(crypto n stuff).
But hm...elementary NT is one thing, algebraic or analytic NT would be a mess for me. Not to mention the others.
Everything seems related these days, my broad maths base has turned into a double-edged sword.
While I can sometimes intuitively feel the connections, at other times I can feel them strangling me.
My current attempt at finding a research topic feels just like that.
While I can enjoy the beauty of combining algebra with graphs, trying to delve deeper than the surface is very taxing.
At times like this I feel like giving up, but it would be a waste after all the effort.
Pushing on despite my famed indolence.
Sigh...perhaps Homomorphisms of graphs will prevail, we'll see.
On a side note, I find writing on paper more....relaxing and engaging. But paper gets easily lost, especially when I have boxes of them.
I'll try to write/scan/ocr them onto here and see what happens.
Probly wouldn't work, but probably didn't stop the ancients.
